In March 2025, we completed a window trim and glass replacement for a homeowner in Boise, ID. This window repair project came as a follow-up to a full home window installation we had done just a month earlier. Originally, the homeowner had selected obscured glass for their bathroom windows, but after living with it, they realized it wasn’t the look they wanted. Thankfully, we were able to offer a simple and cost-effective solution — swapping out the obscured glass for clear glass and adding custom window grilles for extra character.
The homeowner’s main goal was to replace the bathroom window glass with a clearer option that matched the rest of their home while adding decorative grilles for a cohesive, custom look. They were initially concerned they might need to replace the entire window unit, but we assured them that wasn’t necessary. By re-glazing the existing Milgard slider windows, we saved them both time and money.
Once the custom glass arrived at the customer’s home, we got to work. Our team carefully removed the existing obscured glass and seals, fully inspected the window frames, and applied fresh insulating seal tape. We then installed the new clear glass panes and cut the window grilles to size for a custom fit. The installation process was smooth and completed in less than a day.
The final result was exactly what the homeowner hoped for. The clear glass brought in more natural light and opened up the space visually, while the new grilles added a touch of charm that matched the home’s style. The customer was thrilled with the outcome and relieved that the fix was much simpler than they had expected.
